The flushing would be an indicator of increased risk caused by alcohol, in relation to suffer esophageal cancer, something that in the Asian communities is very marked, researchers reported on the hopes to increase awareness of this trait inherited expressed through the flushing.

Since it is directly related to a third of the population of Japan, China and Korea, because it offers valuable information on health.

Alcohol is a well-known risk factor for a variety of cancers, including the esophagus and more serious even.

Many people takes a little red color if drinking too much, it is a facial flushing motivated by a small amount of alcohol, which is due to a deficiency in an enzyme that helps metabolize the alcohol, called ALDH2.

People with a serious enzyme deficiency often do not drink because makes them feel very badly, in addition feel nauseated and palpitations.

But people with a partial deficiency that inherited a bad copy of the enzyme producer of genes instead of two, can increase the risk, a series of studies by Dr. Akira Yokoyama of Japan of the Center Koriyama of alcohol, found that these people have six to 10 times more likely to develop esophageal cancer, that people who drink a comparable amount, but do not have the enzyme deficiency.

Up to 8 percent of the world’s population has the enzyme deficiency, is to say that it is even a small number equally the risk is and avoid alcohol, avoid the deaths from cancer of the esophagus that could be substantially reduced, according to researchers.

A study of nearly 1.3 million British women offers more evidence, respect of the moderate consumption of alcohol and the increased risk in a variety of types of cancer.

United Kingdom researchers surveyed middle-aged women with breast cancer in the clinics, about their health habits and conducted a follow-up during seven years.

A quarter of the women were not reported the use of alcohol and almost all the rest reported that the average consumption was one drink per day.

The researchers compared to the drinkers light of two or fewer soft drinks a week, with the people who drank more.

Each drink extra per day increased the risk for breast cancer, straight and liver, from the University of Oxford, reported the researchers in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.

The type of alcoholic beverages as; wine, beer or liquor did not matter, an earlier investigation defined that alcohol consumption was related to the esophageal cancer and oral, only when the drinkers were smokers.

In addition, the moderate drinkers in reality had lower risk to the thyroid cancer, Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and renal cell cancer.

For a woman the risk is expressed with a total of alcohol small, in developed countries, around 118 in 1000 women develop any of these types of cancer and each drink daily extra ads 11 breast cancers, plus four of the other types.

But throughout the population, 13 percent of the cases of cancer in Great Britain could be attributed to alcohol, this being the conclusion of the study.
