Doctors should pay attention to a new disorder allergic skin caused by mobile phones, according to the British Association of Dermatologists.

A new phenomenon called “dermatitis by mobile phone” has been discovered, through which the people who spend long periods of time talking to your mobile phone develop an allergic reaction, motivated by the nickel in the telephone and the skin contact.

The nickel allergy is the most common of contact allergies in the United Kingdom and is believed that affects 30 percent of the population, with an increased incidence.

Women have a greater risk of developing dermatitis by mobile phone, as it is more likely to have been previously sensitized to the metal after an allergic reaction to nickel by the use of jewelry coated metal.

Dr. Graham Lowe, of the British Association of Dermatologists, said: “The allergy is the frequent contact with the skin for articles containing nickel, as the prolonged contact or repetitive of a phone, which contains, is more likely to cause a skin reaction in the people who are allergic, if you had a reaction after the contact with coating of nickel as buckle or jewelry, for example, have a greater risk to react to the telephones of metal”.
