Diets rich or low in carbohydrates control the weight

Both diets rich as the low in carbohydrates assist in the same way to not to recover the lost weight, as reported by a team of researchers Australian. The study was conducted in two groups of 141 people between men and women.

According to the team of the Dr. Elizabeth A. Delbridge, of Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital, some studies suggested that diets that were rich in protein were better to lose weight in the form faster than those diets rich in carbohydrates. However, there was little evidence which would be the best treatment for not to recover the weight lost.

To respond to this team formed two groups composed of 141 men and women, who just completed a plan of thinning. A group conducted a diet with a 30 per cent of calories derived protein and another group with a 15 per cent of protein.

Both groups retained the fat intake below 30 per cent of the total calories and conducted a decrease of the intake of saturated fat. These people who had thinned around 16.50 kilos only recovered 2 kilos from a year. Read the rest of this entry »

Savings if you stop smoking

It is essential health, but do you know the savings which involves if you stop smoking? We are in times of adjustments and crisis. Smoking is something demonstrably dangerous to health. What smokers have more risk factors against many diseases that other people do not smoke?

The price of tobacco is the most has been increasing over the years. Smoking is expensive, and there are European countries where smoking is still more expensive than in Spain.

The reason for that is expensive and that each time raise the price, intended to be also deterrent. It is assumed if tobacco goes there will be people who are rising cannot continue to spend in both buy tobacco when it could be anything else, planted, quitting smoking.

They say that “little step by little becomes the biggest”. Sum what you spend a day in tobacco and then think about some whim that you would like you, what new clothing? Are a journey? Are a new computer? What some boots?  If you smoke 10 cigarettes a day you can get to save a year 420€. Can you imagine that you can buy clothing, footwear, almost a laptop new (the got from 499€ in department stores). If you smoke more than 10 cigarettes the savings are going multiplying.

Women, alcohol and cancer

A study of nearly 1.3 million British women offers more evidence, respect of the moderate consumption of alcohol and the increased risk in a variety of types of cancer.

United Kingdom researchers surveyed middle-aged women with breast cancer in the clinics, about their health habits and conducted a follow-up during seven years.

A quarter of the women were not reported the use of alcohol and almost all the rest reported that the average consumption was one drink per day.

The researchers compared to the drinkers light of two or fewer soft drinks a week, with the people who drank more.

Each drink extra per day increased the risk for breast cancer, straight and liver, from the University of Oxford, reported the researchers in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
